For this project, I chose to use exclusively star shapes to construct the artwork. I explored various star configurations and employed engraving techniques to introduce diverse textures to each star. Opting for wood as the medium, I anticipated that its natural grain would enhance the visual complexity of the piece. However, I did not foresee that the connections between the stars might weaken and break under the heat of the laser cutting process. Consequently, many parts either fell apart or were entirely burned through during cutting. From these fragmented pieces, I salvaged what I could and creatively reassembled them, forming a new design.
